The Oaks Christian Lady Lions finished Marmonte League play with a perfect 10-0 record, clinching what the program calls its sixth consecutive girls basketball league championship.
The Westlake Village school's athletics account posted the achievement on social media Wednesday, Oct. 14, describing the undefeated league run as going "through the gauntlet." The title is the program's 14th overall, according to Oaks Christian Athletics.
The streak claim does not fully align with available records. MaxPreps shows Oaks Christian posted a 6-4 league record in 2024-25, and the school's own winter sports preview ahead of the 2025-26 season described the prior year as "a third-place finish in the Marmonte League." The school did not explain how it counts the title streak.
The 10-0 finish is the program's first perfect Marmonte League record since the 2015-16 season, when the team also went 10-0 under head coach Kristy Hopkins. The 2019-20 squad, coached by Taylor Wild, went 8-0 in a shorter league slate that year.
Oaks Christian's dominance in league play stretches back well over a decade. The program posted perfect records in the Tri-Valley League in 2008-09 (12-0), 2009-10 (12-0), 2011-12 (12-0), 2012-13 (10-0) and 2013-14 (10-0) under coaches Andre Chevalier and Kenneth Plummer. Plummer's 2014-15 team also went 10-0 after the school moved to the Marmonte League.
The recent title run has spanned multiple coaches. Hopkins led the 2021-22 squad to a 25-4 overall record and 9-1 league mark. Keani Albanez coached the 2022-23 team to 19-7 overall and 9-1 in league. MaxPreps does not include results for 2023-24. Mhiah Vickers took over for the 2025-26 season and guided the Lady Lions to 18-8 overall and 8-2 in league. The 2026-27 head coach has not been publicly identified.
Oaks Christian won every league contest this season. The Lady Lions now await CIF Southern Section playoff bracket assignments. Dates and matchups have not been announced.
