The Promenade at Westlake plans its 30th Annual Tree Lighting on Saturday, Nov. 21, according to the shopping center's dedicated event page.
The celebration runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and features musical entertainment, the arrival of Santa Claus and a fireworks finale, the Promenade said. Pre-show activities begin at 4 p.m. with strolling entertainment, kids' activities, in-store offers and a Holiday Market with food and goods from on-site restaurants and retailers.
Residents should confirm the date before heading out. A separate Promenade holiday guide lists the tree lighting as Nov. 20, with the ceremony at 7:30 p.m. The dedicated event page lists Nov. 21 with a 4–8 p.m. window.
The tree
This year's tree is a white fir from the Mt. Shasta region in Northern California, according to the center's tree page. It stands 60 feet tall. It carries 4,000 lights and more than 3,500 ornaments and will be on display from Nov. 15 through Dec. 25.
Holiday season activities
The tree lighting also opens the Promenade's broader holiday calendar. Santa's Cottage, where families can book visits, runs from Nov. 21 through Dec. 24, according to the holiday guide.
A Letters to Santa station opens the same day. Children pick up a complimentary postcard at Santa's Cottage, fill it out and drop it in Santa's mailbox, according to the Promenade's Letters to Santa page. That station runs through Dec. 24.
