Senior Concerns' sold-out Boat Bash on Saturday, Aug. 29, nearly doubled the money raised at the 2025 event, the Thousand Oaks nonprofit announced.

The organization did not disclose a specific dollar figure. But the jump comes as Senior Concerns faces what it has called frozen or reduced federal and regional funding. Those programs served more than 13,000 older adults and family caregivers across the Conejo Valley in the 2024–25 fiscal year.

The annual fundraiser, themed "Soirée on the Seine" for 2026, drew a capacity crowd to the Westlake Yacht Club on Lindero Canyon Road in Westlake Village. Guests cruised Westlake Lake before sitting down to dinner, dancing and both silent and live auctions, according to the organization's event page.

The 2025 Boat Bash carried a "Grease" movie theme at the same venue, Conejo Valley Lifestyle reported.

Senior Concerns, led by Executive Director Andrea Gallagher, provides more than 6,500 meals per month through its Meals on Wheels program to homebound seniors in Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Oak Park and Agoura Hills. The nonprofit also runs an Adult Day Program, a Caregiver Support Center and Senior Advocate Services, according to its 2024–25 impact report.

In that report, published in November 2025, the organization said government funding had frozen even as demand for services surged. A separate fundraiser page posted in January 2026 described the cuts as requiring emergency support for core programs including Meals on Wheels and the Adult Day Program.

The funding pressure has driven a broader push. Senior Concerns is in the middle of a $3 million campaign tied to its 50th anniversary. The goal is to build a dedicated fund so no local senior is denied a meal or a social connection. A separate raffle earlier in 2026 raised $20,000 in ticket sales to help cover gaps in the meantime.

Senior Concerns' next major fundraiser is the fifth annual "Par and Away" Golf Tournament, presented by Logix Federal Credit Union, on Nov. 19. For sponsorship information, contact Julie Harvey, director of development, at [email protected] or (805) 497-0189.
