Thousand Oaks High girls volleyball swept through the Crescenta Valley Falcon Classic without a loss, claiming the tournament title on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The Lancers went 7-0 across the two-day CIF Southern Section-sanctioned event, held Sept. 25-26 at Crescenta Valley High, according to the Ventura County Star. It was the 17th year of the Falcon Classic.

Junior outside hitter Saylor Halvorsen earned tournament MVP honors. Senior outside hitter Halle Bryce and teammate Gwen Hunnicutt were named to the all-tournament team.

Both Halvorsen and Bryce are committed to play at Brigham Young University. Bryce, who stands 6-foot-2, is ranked No. 69 nationally in the class of 2027 by Prep Dig.

Seven wins, no losses

The Lancers posted straight-set wins over Eagle Rock (2-0), Providence (2-0), Crescenta Valley (2-0) and Bishop Alemany (2-0), and three-set victories against Newbury Park (2-1), Palisades (2-1) and La Canada (2-1), according to MaxPreps.

The Newbury Park match pitted two Marmonte League rivals against each other inside the tournament bracket.

The seven wins pushed Thousand Oaks' overall record to 20-4. The Lancers sit at 2-3 in Marmonte League play.

Park's final season

Head coach James Park leads a Lancers squad that the Ventura County Star described in its Sept. 8 rankings as playing in Park's final season at the helm. The Star ranked Thousand Oaks No. 2 in Ventura County at that time, when the team was 8-1.
