Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village earned an A+ overall grade and the No. 1 boarding school ranking in California in Niche's 2027 school ratings, released Oct. 4.

The school, which serves students from transitional kindergarten through 12th grade (TK-12), placed in the 99th percentile among the nation's best Christian schools and in the 98th percentile among best Christian high schools, according to the school's announcement. Among all private schools, Oaks Christian ranked in the top 8 percent nationally. The school said it has earned the A+ grade from Niche in consecutive years.

Niche is a platform that rates schools on academics, diversity, extracurriculars and other categories. It gave Oaks Christian A+ sub-grades in academics, college prep, clubs and activities, and sports. Teachers earned an A, and diversity earned an A. The platform reports that 99 percent of Oaks Christian graduates receive college admission, according to Niche's profile of the school.

The boarding program's No. 1 state ranking caps a rapid expansion. The residential program launched in 2019 with a handful of students. Seven years later, the dorm houses 107 students from across the country and overseas, including international students from Europe, Asia, Central and South America, and Africa. Domestic boarders come from communities including Calabasas, Orange County and San Diego County.

The school's athletic program also earned high marks. The Lions ranked in the top 1 percent nationally, the top 0.36 percent statewide and the top 0.75 percent in Los Angeles City and County in Niche's Best High Schools for Athletes category. Oaks Christian has accumulated 228 league titles and 64 California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) championships.

"We are proud of our athletes, coaches and trainers for helping us achieve these big numbers," Dr. Brad Cook, head of athletics, said in the announcement. Cook added that the program takes pride in the character and values it builds in student-athletes.

It opened in 2000 with 73 students. Oaks Christian expanded to include TK through third grade for the 2026-27 school year and operates under President and Head of School Rob Black at its Cedar Valley Drive campus.

Families interested in the school can attend an admissions open house Nov. 1 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
