The Thousand Oaks City Council votes Tuesday night on whether to approve a report detailing how the city spent $648,249 in federal block grant money.

The public hearing is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Andrew P. Fox City Council Chambers, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd. The council will decide whether to send the city's annual spending report to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The report, called the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER), covers the city's use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds received for the program year running from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. It also covers prior-year funding, according to the city's public hearing notice. HUD requires the annual report from cities that receive block grant dollars.

A public comment period on the draft report closed Sept. 14. Karen Ponce, community development analyst, accepted written comments at [email protected]. The draft CAPER is available at City Hall's Community Development Department and online at toaks.gov/cdbg.

The hearing is open to the public. Residents can contact the Community Development Department at (805) 449-2500.
