The Westlake Village City Council will hold a public hearing on extending the liquor permit for Lure Restaurant at 30970 Russell Ranch Road. The hearing is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at City Council Chambers, 31200 Oak Crest Drive.

The request, filed by applicant Matt Rek, seeks a time extension of Conditional Use Permit No. 06-001, which authorizes on-site alcohol sales at the restaurant, according to a public notice posted by the city. The notice labels the request Modification No. 3.

This is not the first renewal. The council held a similar hearing on Sept. 8, 2021, when David Cortina applied on behalf of the restaurant for Modification No. 2, also a time extension for alcohol sales at the same address.

The city has determined the permit extension is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

How to participate

Residents can attend the hearing in person, submit written comments by email beforehand, or join by phone or video through Zoom. The public notice states that Zoom instructions and the comment deadline will appear in the published meeting agenda, which had not been posted as of Friday, Sept. 18.

Under California Government Code Section 65009, anyone who later challenges the council's decision in court may be limited to issues raised at the hearing or in written comments delivered before or during it.

Questions or comments can be directed to Anya Kargodorian, planning intern with the Westlake Village Planning Department, at [email protected] or (818) 706-1613.
